Abstract

The enhancement of image resolution is needed to improve the sharpness and clarity of the image. Sharp and clear image is needed by police institutions to be able to monitor violations committed by motorized car, street crime and identify vehicle license plates. Today's surveillance camera system is still considered insufficient to recognize vehicle images that are directly captured on the road when violations occur because of the technological and capabilities of the surveillance camera itself. One way to increase image resolution so as to produce clearer and sharper images is to use superresolution techniques. The use of the POC (Phase Only Correlation) method and the interpolation method can result in an increase in the number of new pixels that can be used to reconstruct new pixel to form the image enhance from a collection of previous images. The new pixels are placed on more grids in the image registration process so that the pixels occupy the grid corresponding to the new pixel integer value as well. By POC method, it is applicable for image conditions that come from surveillance / monitoring cameras which contain vulnerable to noise. The resulting image is a higher resolution image compared to the previous image. This high resolution image can be used to identify and recognize the vehicle plate, recognize the face of the driver and criminality on the streets, so it is expected to help the police in carrying out their duties and can also support intelligent transportation systems that have been implemented by many cities in the world to monitor the vehicle traffic systems
