Abstract
Clarity in driving on the road is a very important necessity that must be considered in driving, especially at night. This is because too much can affect vision in driving a vehicle such as the presence of road barriers, the level of light intensity on the road, the presence and number of vehicles on the road and the physical and visual abilities of each driver will greatly affect the ability to control vehicles on the road. According to road accident surveys, most accidents occur in the dark with limited visibility, especially at night. Most careless drivers only rely on high boundaries and road markings such as the center line of the road to make estimates in controlling the vehicle. High road barriers can cause drivers to limit vehicle speed and vehicle position on the road. This can cause the driver's ability to control which can be fatal in driving if there is a level of light that is able to interfere with vision such as reflected light from the road divider that causes vision to become blurred and unfocused in paying attention to driving concentration. Therefore vehicle detection is very important in helping to reduce accident rates at night. Vehicle detection on the highway can be done by recognizing the tail lights of the taillights (Taillights Lamp) of the vehicle so that it can be recognized as a vehicle that is running on the rayal road with this system can provide information on the presence of vehicles on the highway at night. It is also very necessary to support the surveillance camera system on the highway so that it can help in reducing the accident rate on the highway and can also support intelligent information technology-based transportation systems.
